Process
A focused process built around the business outcome.
Every engagement follows the same disciplined path. Five phases, a fixed scope, a fixed price, and senior hands from first call through launch. It's the reason projects stay on scope, decisions stay defensible, and websites end up reflecting the business, not the trend of the month.
Before phase 01
How an engagement starts.
Before any work begins we run three short, deliberate steps so everyone knows what they're signing up to. No pressure, no games.
A 30-minute conversation to understand the business, goals, and rough timeline. No pitch deck. Either it's a fit or we point you somewhere useful.
A fixed-scope, fixed-price proposal within a week, with the scope, deliverables, timeline, and pricing you can share with a partner or board.
Once signed, we lock a start date, book working sessions, and issue a shared timeline the whole team can plan around.
The five phases
What actually happens, week by week.
Discovery & Strategy
Understand the business before touching the pixels.
We sit down with founders, sales, and, where useful, a handful of customers. We map who buys, why they choose you, what the current site is (and isn't) doing, and what a good outcome six months out looks like.
2, 3 working sessions with the leadership team. We do the synthesis.
- —Founder & sales working sessions
- —Customer interviews (2, 4, optional)
- —Competitive & positioning audit
- —Current site & funnel diagnostic
- —Goals, KPIs, and success criteria
- ✓Business goals & success criteria
- ✓Audience & positioning brief
- ✓Diagnostic report on the current system
Content & Structure
Get the story right before applying visual design.
We shape the site map, page-by-page structure, and messaging framework, headlines, proof, and the customer journey. This is the phase most agencies skip. It is the phase that decides whether the site actually converts.
One structured review round. Written feedback in a shared doc.
- —Site map & page inventory
- —Page-by-page wireframes (structure, not visuals)
- —Messaging framework & voice guide
- —Content plan for existing + new copy
- —Conversion & capture flow design
- ✓Site map
- ✓Wireframes for every template
- ✓Messaging framework & headline system
- ✓Content plan with owners and deadlines
Design
A professional visual direction that fits your business and industry.
We develop a restrained, considered art direction, typography, colour, imagery, motion, and apply it to the key templates. Every design decision maps back to the audience and positioning, not to what looks impressive on Dribbble.
One direction-selection review, one applied-design review.
- —Art direction concepts (1, 2 directions)
- —Key page designs
- —Component & pattern system
- —Accessibility & responsive review
- —Motion & interaction principles
- ✓Approved visual direction
- ✓Designed key pages (desktop + mobile)
- ✓Component system for build
Development & Integration
Build the site and wire it into the systems behind it.
We build the responsive site, connect the CMS, and wire it into the tools that matter, CRM, analytics, forms, marketing automation, AI assistants where applicable. Everything is QA'd on real devices before it goes near a launch date.
Content sign-off and one staged-review round.
- —Responsive front-end build
- —CMS configuration & content migration
- —CRM, forms, and marketing integrations
- —Analytics & attribution setup
- —Performance, accessibility, and cross-device QA
- ✓Staged build on preview URL
- ✓Connected CRM & analytics
- ✓QA report & performance scores
Launch & Support
Ship confidently, and keep the site working after launch.
We coordinate the domain cut-over, monitor closely for the first week, and hand over a site your team can actually run. Then we stay on for the questions, small changes, and analytics reviews that decide whether the investment compounds.
Attend the handover session; then use the site.
- —Pre-launch checklist & redirects
- —Domain launch & DNS cut-over
- —Post-launch monitoring (7 days)
- —Team training & handover documentation
- —30 / 60 / 90-day review cadence
- ✓Live site & documented handover
- ✓Training video & written guide
- ✓Ongoing Website Care plan (optional)
How we run the work
Four operating principles that keep engagements sane.
One project at a time per lead
Your strategist and designer are on your engagement, not seven others. That's how deadlines hold.
Fixed scope, fixed price
You approve the scope and the price. If scope changes, we agree the change in writing before any work starts.
Written decisions, not slack noise
Every meaningful decision lands in a shared doc with a date. Nobody has to remember what was said in a call.
Ship on the date we agreed
If a date slips, it slips because you asked it to, not because we over-committed.
After launch
What happens once the site is live.
Launch is a milestone, not an ending. We offer three light-touch ways to keep the system working, pick one, pick all three, or take the site and run.
Light-touch retainer for platform maintenance, security updates, backups, and small edits, so the site never drifts.
Focused two-week sprints to ship a new template, campaign landing page, or conversion experiment, priced up front, not by the hour.
Quarterly reviews of traffic, conversion, and pipeline attribution, with a short action list, not a 40-slide deck.
Process questions
Everything a buyer wants to know before signing.
How long does a typical engagement take?+
Six to twelve weeks for a full site. Smaller fixed-scope engagements (Refresh, Sprint) run in three to five weeks. AI and revenue-system work is scoped separately.
How much of my team's time will this need?+
About four to six focused hours a week from a project owner during discovery and content, and less thereafter. We don't run meetings for the sake of meetings.
Can we start with strategy only?+
Yes. Discovery & Strategy is available as a standalone engagement, and the output is useful whether you build the site with us or not.
What happens if we need to change scope mid-project?+
We agree the change in writing, price it explicitly, and adjust the timeline. Nothing gets absorbed silently, and nothing gets billed by surprise.
Do you write the content?+
We write the messaging framework and headlines in every engagement. Long-form copy is a scope option, we do it, edit yours, or bring in a specialist writer from the network.
